I have to be honest that I do not even know where to start this week. Maybe I should just start with weight loss stuff and then you can tune out on everything else if you would like.
So I think I will do that. It’s been one hell of a crazy week but guess what? I have hit the major goal of the summer already. I even crushed it by almost 3 pounds. Since the fat loss challenge at the gym that started for me around April 13th, I am officially down 37.8 pounds. And yes I do give a shit about the .8 pounds, so fuck off. I have 13 pounds left to lose to hit my 2018 goal. Then honestly I will just do my best to maintain it. Maybe. Intermittent fasting, and a ketogenic diet seems to be working for me. And if I could do it this week with all the stress and added crapped in my life that anyone who really says their mind to it can do it. By the way, there is no such thing as cheat days, cheat meals or anything like that in this lifestyle choice. Just want to make sure that anyone is reading it does not understand that gets it. Most days, anything I do is highly calculated in the kitchen and the gym.
It definitely feels good to be way under where I was this time last year. Of course I was incredibly depressed and recovering from hernia surgery at this point. I am down a total of 114lbs since I started this journey 4.5 years ago. Can’t believe that I did this.
So while that is out-of-the-way let’s get into some other stuff. We hit the shore a day or two early last week because I had Friday night off. Friday was a very chill day for me. I actually sat on the beach for almost 4 hours and really enjoyed it. I was waiting for news and must’ve triggered my email over 7000 times while sitting on the beach but I still had a very nice afternoon. Headed over to Sea Isle after dinner to grab some ice cream and then caught the sunset coming home on the intercoastal highway. Then Amber and I found the best spot in town to watch the fireworks and then called it a night. Of course when we got back for bikes my front tire was flat an woke up the next day And got it fixed. On our way for bike ride, neighbor told us he was having a guy come to clean the lint out of the dryers that we have to do as a co-op, so we turned around and jumped in on that appointment as well.
That quickly became an afternoon of day drinking with our neighbors at the local bar. I broke my fast with a roast beef sandwich that of course was not so calculated and about 10 tito’s and ginger ale. Needless to say by 4 PM p.m. I was walking home in a torrential downpour and going straight to bed before I had to head to Cape May to play. I woke up at 7 o’clock, with Amber making me eat a Burger patty with cheese and getting in the shower to find out most of the bridges in and out of Wildwood we’re closed till nine. I also missed my neighbors tubing down our street in the flood. Luckily the Wildwood crest bridge was open and I could safely get to Cape May through a little bit of water. I am really going to have to watch the drinking because my body just does not like it. I did not drink more than one shot in Cape May. A little bit of the hair of the dog worked wonders.
I didn’t tell this story on Facebook because it came from a different time and I didn’t think everyone would appreciate it but I did want to tell the story… 23 years ago the band was playing at the Blarney in NE Philly. They had a private garage area and I was parked back there. Crabby put a license plate cover around my plate without me knowing… it said… “i’m Happy Being Gay” – long story short.. Someone in Salem Harbor where I lived at the time was not happy that I was gay… and i came out to a late tire and they broke my antenna. Took me a few days to see the plate and realize that I was basically a hate crime. Although who thought about that in the late 90’s. Today, there would be an uproar. It took me 23 years to get him back but Saturday Night at Carney’s I slipped on a shirt I made with almost no one noticing.. It read… Text Requests and Crabby’s Cell phone number. 30 plus texts later needless to say not only was it a hit but I m now the prank war champion! He couldn’t figure out why his watch kept saying “Party in the USA”. When he finally turned about to tell me something, he saw the shirt and almost died laughing. He was a good sport. Lots of good requests too.
We had to come home from the shore early Sunday morning so on very little sleep we rolled out by 7 AM. We had Brandon and Kelly’s taste test at the Buck Hotel. It was interesting to say the least especially since both kids were sick and Brandon was beyond miserable. Can’t believe the grown ass man is getting married in a couple short months.
The weeks started with a check up on my hip because of some pain I’ve been having and it turns out that my hip is in great shape and the strain is muscular… Then I had a colonoscopy the next day and all is clear and no more of that crap (see what I did there) for another 5 years. Bowel Prep sucks and the poor people that caught my wrath Monday night when I was already in a 20 plus hour fast and they had to text me with stupid shit. Lord have mercy.
Hip Doctor, Colon Doctor, Drug test… It’s been a crazy week and we are just getting started for me as we go into the weekend but I have to get to the gym and meet a lifting partner so I’ll leave this here for now and save the last big story for next week.
Hit the gym. You will love it. The gym will love you back.
I have to find a tuxedo in my closet that fits and doesnt look like a sack of potatoes before Saturday.
Bless your heart!
You are killing your goal! And you crack me up with the practical jokes! I love that life is being kind to you. Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring me every week!
I should be up your way I’ll little more often come later in the month so we will have to get together for lunch and or dinner.
