Hey everyone I hope you are having a great week. Happy Tuesday and welcome to this weeks rants and ramblings.
So let’s get the white elephant out of the room. Today’s weigh in is 325.9. If you are new to the party let’s remember that I start at 411lbs this time last year. And yes I’ve been floating between 320 and 328 since Thanksgiving and no matter how hard I work this is where I am. And guess what? For the most part, I am okay with it. I am still down 85 pounds from where I was last year. Shit will happen. I’ll hit another spurt. I am 25 pounds from my helicopter ride across Wildwood. So close that I am can almost see it now. It’s hard to believe that I’ve only lost 10-12 pounds since the summer and you look back on your blogs and posts and realize that you are working a million times harder. What are you doing wrong? I don’t know honestly. I did lose weight since last week so at least things moved in the right direction this time. So there is that.

I wanted to take some time to tell you about a few important pieces of #teamfranco – I know a lot of people want to know what I am doing. Sometimes I get asked if I just had weight loss surgery. That’s funny. How did you lose so much weight? It’s just the gym isn’t it. You are there a lot. That’s funny too. But there are people that are on my team and then I have a whole digital team that is the rock that makes me roll. I know I am a cheese ball. Let’s start with digital part of my team.

I have an iPhone 6 so all these apps are from the iTunes store. The first app I downloaded and used religiously for months is Lose It! I have only used the free version and it has done more than I have ever needed or imagined. I log everything I eat. You can put in your weight and information and it will tell you where you need to be food wise to lose 2 pounds a week. It’s not perfect but especially in the first few months it worked. And it still does a great job of holding you accountable. It also sync up to my Activity tracker. So you can put your exercise in there and the calories will work out. I DO NOT EAT MY EXERCISE CALORIES. I always do my best to get as close to my calories but I always find it hard when I am eating very healthy. It’s a good way to see your protein and carb intake too. This app is the foundation of all my hard work. If you have any questions just ask me.
So when I started for the first few days I just worked my Lose It app.

Then I decided that I needed to track my activity so I got a Nike Fuel band. It’s been on my wrist for over a year now. I feel naked without it no matter how many really nice watches I own and I own a pretty awesome Movado. But the whole reason for this website, Twitter and putting my shit out there is to hold myself accountable. The Fuel Band and App to just that. You set a goal. My goal is the average for a man my age. I wanted it to be attainable and not kill me but I also wanted to be challenged. I hit that damn goal for over a year straight. Who would have thought that I would do physical activity every damn day for over a year? But I did it. Was it easy? No some days it sucked. If I couldn’t get to the mall or gym I walked around my house like a mental patient but guess what. It works. I love my fuel band.

So how do I keep track of my walks? Well if you follow the My Fitness Pal makers. They have an app called Map my Walk. It all syncs pretty seamlessly. Although they try to get you to upgrade, I have gotten by just fine with the FREE version. Is it perfect? No. It is dependent on the satellites and your cell signal but it helps. I like when you can tell from the map that I went to the bathroom in the mall. Yes, I love walking in Franklin Mills.
I really like walking anymore. I can’t believe it quite actually. But it’s all apart of having the Eye of the Tiger I guess.

There is one more app that I added before Christmas. It’s called waterlogged. If you can’t tell you use it to log water. The food pyramid bullshit tells you to drink 8 cups of water a day. If you can’t tell I am not a big food pyramid guy. Then they tell you to drink a gallon a day for healthy weight loss and metabolism boosts. Well do you know what 8 glasses and a gallon of water looks like. Here let me show you!
Hello. that’s a lot of water. I use the waterlogged app to keep track to get me as close to a gallon as possible. I log my tea water, protein water. If it’s water I log it.
Well I have to get to class. I don’t want to be late. I hope everyone on #teamfranco is doing well. I am here if you need me. I’ll tell you about my work out stuff and that part of my team in my next blog. This week I am just going to try and make better choices and log, log, log. My birthday is in a few weeks. Let’s see what I can do till then.
Feel the love
Franco
