Jersey girls are always total heartbreakers

I still wonder where you are
Cause I know the old you
And you know the old me
When we were both lookers – The Menzingers
Ever since I graduated college I’ve been in a band. The lifestyle is fantastic when you’re at the venue and onstage. The most amazing feeling ever. The getting there and getting home is what sucks the most. You think you are starving but the truth of the matter is that if you ate dinner at normal Time on a Friday by the time the band is done playing, it might be eight hours later now and yes we are starving. That is the biggest fight that I have with myself after a show. It is much easier to grab the candy bar, A bag of chips and a soda and head home. Now you can typically find crabby and I in one of the closer Wawa’s looking at labels like jackasses. Well not really jackasses but you know what I mean. Gravity for various health reasons has been low carb for the last couple months as well. It gets even worse in the summer time when we are traveling further distances.
Last weekend we played in Philadelphia and I went straight to the shore. I did a bunch of stuff on Saturday with my neighbors help (Thank God) and still ate responsibly. I did have a drink or two. I do not believe that it really kicked me out of ketosis. It might have briefly but either way I am okay. I was back in the gym on Sunday and have been there ever since. Today’s weigh in and brought my body fat percentage down a little more but my weight was the same as last week. I guess after six weeks of loss sooner or later I was going to hit a week of plateau. I also did a Carb refeed Sunday into Monday. My coach thinks it by tomorrow I should be firing on all cylinders again until my next reseed which is next Thursday.
While I got on the scale and really wanted to see a few more pounds off, I am not going to beat myself up too much. My body fat is down almost another percent since I checked it two weeks ago and that is awesome.
The challenge comes this weekend when I go to Ocean City Maryland on Saturday and have my friend Ken put out the biggest spread you’ll ever see at 2 o’clock o’clock in the morning. But I will stay away from the carbs, put a little something in my stomach and go to sleep. Chances are I will drive home first thing in the morning and not eat do I get back to Philadelphia. That will actually be a good fast for me.
I went to the Fillmore on Tuesday night to see Frank Turner and it was awesome. I danced. I had so much fun. Poor Amber had to sit through four bands not knowing one song but she powered through. Luckily she is smart enough to know good music when she hears it and can appreciate it. It’s nice to see people actually playing instruments.
I am looking forward to seeing third eye blind in Atlantic City in a few weeks.
Well I’m doing my best to embrace the keto lifestyle. It is not really that hard. You just realize everything you really love love love love has carbs in it. And you try to rationalize with yourself that any and all you are doing is fueling the fire to burn the fat. Eating doesn’t have to be a euphoric thing for yourself, it just has to be . Fuel the fire, burn the fat. Repeat after me fuel the fire, burn the fat. Amber actually isn’t following a set diet per se, but has cut out carbs as well and is doing fantastic. Will I be super strict all summer, probably not. Why do what I have to to get to my next two goals. , absolutely. We will see what happens then.
Let’s hope for better days, sunny skies, and love.
Till next week,
Franco
