Let’s talk about facts today right out of the gate. On paper I am 11 pounds heavier than I was this time last year. That is Flat out on the scale. That is what it is. I am working on that.
Since I started this fat loss competition about five or six weeks ago I am now down 12 1/2 pounds and almost 9 pounds of fat and 4% body fat lower. I know I said a few weeks ago that I wasn’t going to tell anyone until the contest is over but after being on a keto diet for the last couple days I was very proud of myself to drop 3 pounds since last week. Everything has been so up-and-down lately that I am OK with telling you where I am at. I am pretty sure that come Wednesday when I weigh in I will be in the top three for sure. Everyone who join the contest has until next Friday To weigh themselves into it. So hopefully I will get good news over memorial day weekend. I am pretty sure there is over $450 in that envelope. I would definitely save it to buy some new clothes later in the summer.
My keto diet is not as hard as I thought it was. You are adding more fats and protein to your diet, but you also have to be smart about it because I only have 20 carbs to play with all day long. I have not been as sluggish as I thought I would be. I actually feel pretty good. Tonight will be the greatest test Because we are going to see Deadpool two and I love movie theater popcorn and butter. I will behave. The plan now is to stick couple cheese sticks in my pocket. I will be fine. I think the hardest part of it is being out and about and needing a quickfix. I understand that I can go pretty much anywhere and get a burger with no bun etc. I am just so fixated on weighing my food and keeping track of everything that it drives me crazy knowing that some things I just can’t control. I don’t know how much you mean is on cheesesteak without the bread kind of thing. I do think that if I can keep myself on this for month or two good I will crush my goals quickly and with a lot less stress. I have a feeling that Amber is going to follow suit only because at least in the house we have not been eating any carbs. I don’t know what she’s eating at work etc. But honestly that’s not my business. I can only really focus on me as far as my diet is concerned. I am the one that can’t go and buy pants at a store, yet. But I will be by years end.
I am sure a lot of people kicked ass at this competition. If you forget what I am talking about, my gym decided to have a fat loss competition to get people ready for the summer, and give everyone who wanted to try a little kick in the ass. Some people fizzled out quickly, and some people have been really trying hard. I think a lot of the people will see that you can’t outwork a bad diet. I figured it out along time ago in this journey because I was paying for a trainer, going to boot camp classes, and letting myself splurge a little too much, probably because my level of moderation and someone else’s can be totally different. And I’m sure that I let myself get unhinged. Then I realized that I was paying for boot camps and gyms and orange theory fitness and I wasn’t getting the results that should have been getting and I then dialed down my diet and ended up cutting some of the unnecessary gym memberships and things out of my life. Why pay for a personal trainer if you aren’t going to do the work in the kitchen too? You are literally setting yourself up to fail and feel miserable. Trust me I was there too. You got this. Skinny tastes better then booze and weekend binges.
Ironically this week, three people reached out to me to talk to me about their new Health coach businesses. I honestly didn’t know that this was a thing. I get the whole beach body coach crap. You’re not a coach, your sales person. It’s the same thing with herbal life and advocare. Both diets will take some weight off of you but honestly at the end of the 20 days if you don’t change your lifestyle and eating habits you’ll just go back to the way you were quickly. You can probably find my blog about Advocare. I did a 10 day cleanse. I lost 15 pounds, put five right back on within a few days, and then crashed right into a plateau for almost 3 months. I will never touch that kind of stuff ever again. But anyway back to the story. So a health coach Will not write me a meal plan, they will not write me a gym routine or gym programming, but they will help me find answers to a healthier lifestyle and help me with my motivations. So for maybe shits and giggles, I hire a health coach and they will be my glorified cheerleader. Fuck. Isn’t that what the Internet is for? Post a workout selfie. get some likes. feel good. done deal. I just saved $150 plus a month on a health coach.

I have some friends around me trying to get healthier. Including a couple in the band. Maybe this summer will be much easier to live a much healthier lifestyle. I have a few great shows coming up and just one to be the best product that I can be both on stage and my personal life.
My workouts were on point this week, I still have my cardio goals this week and I want to update them a little bit going into Wednesday’s final contest weigh in.
I even bought a pair of jeans this week. OH YEAH!
On a side note, my youngest graduated from WCU this past weekend. Very proud of him.
