It’s Thursday in sunny Wildwood today. I am on vacation for another day and a 1/2 before we play AC tomorrow night. I just got back from the gym and wanted to rip a quick blog for the week out to you. I guess I’ll start with some facts first and foremost. I have been going to the gym every morning and keeping up with my training. Today I got on the scale with clothes on and no shoes and I was under 300 and it looked like the needle was around 297. So I love that because I’m on vacation and while making sure I don’t make an absolute pig out of myself. I have had some ice cream and my yearly 1 batch of fried oreos etc. I haven’t actually drank alot. 1 night I had a little fun for some drunk go-carting and even in Avalon for the show Saturday night I was behaved.

On Sunday I was sitting on the beach for a little while and I got a FB message from my friend Ally that she saw someone run by her in the Altantic City triathlon with a Team Franco shirt on and I knew right away who it was. Mostly because I know who has them. I don’t give them out willy nilly. I have made a lot of amazing friends both with the photo studio and gyms that I go to. But the gift that keeps on giving is definitely the band. And I met Nina and Justin through my then Sax player Aram, a few years ago. Nina has done half marathons, and full marathons, and now started doing these triathlons and she’s been awesome enough in the past few months to take Team Franco down Broad street for the Broad Street run, The Mexican ruins on her vacation and now the AC Tri. She’s been supporter of mine from the beginning with Team Franco and the band and I am glad that Team Franco and “no excuses” is more about a feeling than it is about me personally. Thank you Nina for all the support. Can’t wait to see where you go next.
If that didn’t make me smile enough on Sunday, The helicopter flew over us and I knew it was time. I knew I was close to the 300 mark and I should have been under by my thoughts and didn’t want to get into bad things and have the scale go the other way. So I told myself that tonight was the night. I sent the operator a Facebook message and talked about the best time for photos and we thought a little before sunset would make it perfect.
So there I went. Amber wasn’t going to go up but when I got there the crew was waiting for me. The attendant said that they were waiting for me and that the company owner sent his congratulations on my weight loss and that the flight was on him. I was almost in tears honestly and Amber had to come with me now. And I am glad she did because she ran the go pro camera from the back seat while I had a camera and cell phone in hand and we got some awesome video and photos.
It was amazing. What a rush. I was so busy photographing and taking it all in that I forgot to be scared of heights. It was hands down one of the coolest things I have ever done or seen. In the past few days I’ve seen my happy place from water, land and air.
Thank you to East Coast Helicopter Tours for all the love and for the surprise. We have new #teamfranco members for sure.

Not much was going to top that but yesterday I got to make good on my promise to take my nieces to the waterpark. If you have been reading for awhile you know I broke my elbow last summer and never got to take the girls. It was a great few hours in the sun. I got a great leg workout climbing all those steps for sure. I used to be really scared going down water slides but not yesterday. It felt amazing.
I am looking forward to getting back into my routine next week at home but I am glad to have had a few days at the beach to try new things, slow life down a little bit and just enjoy myself.
Next goal is getting down to 285lbs. Time to get to work.
Thanks for reading. Keep the faith.
Franco
I have been reading through your blog a bit this morning and you are a true INSPIRATION! Thank you so much for talking about your journey and how you can still be “human” and have your moments where you break form too! Keep up the good work!
