It’s been a long summer and it’s come to a close. For me…. I set 2017 to be my year to get back to good and as always something derailed me. The scale, my body, double hernia… it rocked me physically and even worse mentally. In that little space inside your body where your heart connects to your mind…. that’s where it hurt more than any pain… That’s what I am working healing now more than anything.
So let’s try and bring everyone reading up to speed a little and then we’ll figure out where we are going.
It’s Friday afternoon here outside Philly. The record player is spinning my new Matchbox Twenty record….. I am instantly taken back to it being on repeat in the 1997 in my apartment with Crabby. We called it the “Love Grotto”. The dogs are finally all passed out and I just checked on my sister in Florida.
I have been cleared to resume life from the doctor now for almost 2 weeks. I left the doctors office when he cleared me and went right to the gym. I’ve been taking it slow. If you follow my Instagram you’ve seen the activity on it change back to what it was set up for, progress, motivation and accountability. I have taken it easy. I slowly got myself back to a decent routine at the gym that I am slowly and steadily raping up workout after working. My coach and I actually upped my caloric intake from where I was at the end of June to get my body firing on all pistons.
I’ve lost 5 pounds from my first weigh in 2 weeks ago but this week I stayed the same and we were happy about that since we increased my food intake. We are slowly working towards a few weeks of Keto.
So the summer ended. It was a long weekend for the band with three shows. We aren’t like everyone else who plays 3-4 nights a week. We are cranky by that third night. I guess I was cranky from the get go since I am not so happy in my skin right now. I just felt so damn good going into 4th of July weekend and then the hernia and then a total train derailment.
So here is the business because we all have shit to do for the weekend so let me get a short goal list together for you….. and for me…. (see it’s that accountability). This will all have a “by New Years” vibe and deadline….
- Shooting for 30 pounds lost before NYE.
- Increase all of my lifts at the gym 25%
- I want to get into those size 40 jeans and wear then New Years Day….
- Find somewhere to volunteer a few hours a week with teens.. music.. writing.. weight loss.. something….
- Find a 9-5 job that I’ll love getting up to go to
I’m not asking for much huh. Baby steps 🙂
